Little Mix Quietly Drops LGBT Anthem About Forbidden Love

The ladies confirmed on Twitter that they hoped the community would love "Secret Love Song Pt. II."

The ladies of Little Mix have taken their advocacy one step further by silently releasing an "LGBT anthem" called "Secret Love Song, Pt. II."

The ballad was included on their recently-released third studio album "Get Weird," and serves as the follow-up track to the more upbeat "Secret Love Song," a duet with Jason Derulo.

The song's lyrics hint at an unrequited love that borders taboo territory:

Why can't I hold you in the street?

Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?

I wish that it could be like that

Why can't it be like that? Cause I'm yours

Why can't I say that I'm in love?

I wanna shout it from the rooftops

I wish that it could be like that

Why can't it be like that? Cause I'm yours

The group's words touched gay fans — of which they have many — who wondered if it was an LGBT anthem. "I don't think @littlemix realise they've written an LGBT anthem," one fan wrote on Twitter.

Using the group's official Twitter, Jade Thirlwall responded, "I'm so happy you've said this ??❤️ this is how I picture it and how we saw the music video in our heads."
