Christina Ricci Returns With An Ax To Grind In Lifetime's "The Lizzie Borden Chronicles"

Following the gloriously campy 2014 television movie Lizzie Borden Took An Ax, Lifetime has announced a limited series, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, based on infamous axe-wielder Lizzie Borden.

Christina Ricci returns to reprise her role as the New Jersey socialite accused of viciously hacking her wealthy father and stepmother to death in 1892.

As the series begins, people around Lizzie start dying and she, once again, becomes the prime suspect. Gay fave Clea DuVall also returns to play Lizzie's sister, Emma Borden, who some think was really behind their parents' deaths.

The maybe-murderess was long believed to have carried on affairs with several women over her life, including movie actress Nance O'Neil. Interestingly enough, another popular theory is that Lizzie murdered her parents after they discovered she was gay. We'll see if Lifetime explores any of the gay rumors on the show.

Watch the trailer for The Lizzie Borden Chronicles below. The show premieres on Sunday, April 5.
