We're Gagging Over These Gorgeous Lizzo Photos in "Rolling Stone"

In a new cover story shot by David LaChapelle, the singer is a literal goddess among men.

Shocking absolutely no one, Lizzo's new Rolling Stone cover story is good as hell.

The "Truth Hurts" queen and leading nominee at the 2020 Grammy Awards sat down with the magazine for its February 2020 issue. The resulting photos, shot by famous queer photographer David LaChapelle, are nothing short of stunning, depicting the singer-songwriter as a halo-covered woodland goddess flanked by some very, very sexy men. (Her iconic flute makes an appearance, too.)

Speaking to Rolling Stone writer Brittany Spanos, the Cuz I Love You singer opened up about having her major moment in the spotlight after a decade of putting in the work. The 31-year-old artist and proud LGBTQ ally has built an empire—and an army of superfans—on her uplifting, body-positive pop and R&B.

She's also candid about paying tribute to fellow black women with self-love anthems like 2016's "Coconut Oil."

“As a black woman, I make music for people, from an experience that is from a black woman,” she told the magazine. “I’m making music that hopefully makes other people feel good and helps me discover self-love. That message I want to go directly to black women, big black women, black trans women. Period."

Now that is a gospel we can get behind.

She did note that there are "hella white people" at her shows, especially since "Truth Hurts," which she first released in 2017, topped the charts last year. "What am I gonna do, turn them away?" she joked. "My music is for everybody.”
