Lizzo Says She’s Quitting Twitter Over “Too Many Trolls”

She says she'll return "when I feel like it."

Lizzo has had enough of Twitter, and trolls are to blame.

The "Good As Hell" singer tweeted on Monday that she is taking a break from the social media platform, with no word on when she'll return, other than saying it will be "when I feel like it."

The self-love advocate and proud LGBTQ ally has been body-shamed by trolls in the past, but more recently, a particularly offensive meme of her being dropped from a plane onto Iran began to make the rounds.

Not too long ago, Lizzo also used the social media platform to confront pundit Dr. Boyce Watkins, who'd claimed that her fame comes not from her immense talent, but rather "because there is an obesity epidemic in America."

Of course, the Grammy-nominated singer deftly put him in his place, reminding us all that she has earned her success through talent and hard work.

The only person who needs to do better is you.

"I’ve always had to turn haters into congratulators," Lizzo said in a September 2019 interview with Billboard, adding she has "never lost that mentality of 'I have to win you over.'"
