This Sunday, the starry revival of ‘Promises, Promises‘ opened on Broadway, and Drama Club was there to chat up both the cast and the many celebrity attendees. Chelsea Clinton hobbled past us on some crutches, and Hugh Jackman was quickly swept towards the inside of the theater on his cloud of elegance and grace, but we were able to catch a lot of other fabulous people!
Joan Rivers arrived, looking like a character from a murder mystery role playing game in the best way possible, as well as Mo Rocca, Phil Donahue, Alan Menken, and theatrical legend Neil Simon! They all seemed to enjoy the dollar store buttons I threw at them after our interviews as well. I’m assuming.
Unfortunately, Sean Hayes was unable to speak to us for some reason… but he did stand in front of us drinking water out of what looked like a bendy straw for a good minute or two!! I tried to pin a Drama Club button on his thigh while he was talking to NY1 but failed. I assure you I while actively continue my recruiting efforts.
However, my old friend Kristin Chenoweth and I were definitely able to grab a sorely needed moment to reconnect behind the glare of the flashbulbs and away from the opulent splendor of the opening night party at The Plaza. BFFS YET?!!?
