Logo Officially Renews "RuPaul's Drag Race" For Season 9, Announces New Fire Island Docuseries

Why you gagging?

Just days after snatching two Emmy nominations, RuPaul's Drag Race has officially been renewed for a ninth season by Logo.

"Season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race will be bigger, better and more twisted than ever," teases RuPaul, who thanked Logo "for continuing to provide a powerful platform for these brave, gorgeous and creative souls to tell their stories."

The network has also greenlighted a new series following the drama at one of America's preeminent gay getaways: Fire Island, from executive producers Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, follows a group of young gay New Yorkers escaping to Fire Island Pines for fun, adventure and (possibly) romance.

"Fire Island is an exciting new addition to Logo’s slate,” says Pamela Post, SVP of Original Programing for Logo. “We’re thrilled to give it a home alongside yet another incredible season of intense competition on RuPaul’s Drag Race."

The news follows the announcement of Logo's new reality dating competition series, Finding Prince Charming, which will debut this fall.

And be sure to catch RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race, premiering August 25 at 8/7c with a queen-sized 90-minute episode.
