Logo To Air New ‘It Gets Better’ Special This Fall

Logo will air a second installment of Dan Savage’s It Gets Better special this fall it has just been announced. The network will partner with MTV for the program, with an air date soon to be released.

Savage, along with his partner Terry Miller, made a youtube video in September 2010 to try and encourage suffering LGBT youth to make it through the teen years because it does, indeed, get better. This transformed into the It Gets Better Project, which has since inspired over 30,000 user responses, including ones from President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Adam Lambert, Anne Hathaway, Tim Gunn, Ellen DeGeneres, and many more.

The first installment of It Gets Better focused on three young people struggling for acceptance: a young man afraid to tell his family that he’s gay, a girl fighting for acceptance from her parents for being a lesbian, and a transgender man about to get married.

Be sure to tune in to Logo and MTV this fall for the second installment, and see a clip from the original special above.
