Logo Town Hall: Russia Vs. The Gays: LIVE STREAMING

Russia's treatment of its LGBT citizens and how the global community should respond is the subject of great debate. Today at 4pm EST,  NewNowNext is hosting Logo Town Hall: Russia vs. The Gays, a one-hour, live-stream discussion presented in conjunction with AllOut.org, the nonprofit devoted to defending the international LGBT community.

The forum will explore Russia's gay "propaganda" law and the international response — which has included a boycott on Russian products — as well as the debate surrounding U.S. participation in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Moderated by out sportscaster Jared Max, Logo Town Hall: Russia vs. The Gays  includes openly gay Olympic diver Greg Louganis, All Out co-founder Andre Banks, Nina Long of RUSA LGBT and Roman Mamonov, a Russian journalist who moved from Moscow to New York nine months ago and is applying for asylum.

"The world is responding in unprecedented ways to Putin's crackdown on human rights," says Banks. "It is critical as the movement grows, that we all remain informed.”

We want to hear from you, too: Audience members are encouraged to submit questions and comments via Twitter and Facebook, using #LogoTownHall or post them on Logo’s Facebook page. Submissions will also be accepted via Vine and Instagram using #LogoTownHall.

“Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ law is a critical topic for the LGBT community, and we want to provide an interactive and educational forum to discuss this human rights issue,” says Logo's general manager Lisa Sherman. “We look forward to convening future town halls that will address the current events and breaking news that matters most to our viewers.”

Check back on NewNowNext for the full broadcast of "Logo Town Hall: Russia vs. The Gays" on Wednesday afternoon.
