Meet the Logo30: Brandon Wolf

"I want to keep up the fight for full equality," says the Pulse survivor and gun-reform advocate.

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2021 Logo30. This powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to view current and past honorees.

This year marks five years since the horrific mass shooting at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub that claimed the lives of 49 people, many of whom were LGBTQ+ people of color. Brandon Wolf was at Pulse that night. He survived the massacre, but his best friend, Drew, and Drew’s boyfriend, Juan, did not.

Wolf made headlines as a Pulse survivor, and he has since used his platform to advocate for gun reform and speak out against anti-LGBTQ+ violence. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Wolf has also made it a priority to champion queer-owned businesses.

However, the past year's protests against systemic racism and police brutality made him realize he needed to learn more about queer people of color throughout history.

"I've tried to do some homework — reading and learning about queer leaders of color throughout history so I can really understand the journey that we've been on and where we're headed, and I'm looking forward to doing more of the same," Wolf tells Logo. "I want to continue to support a community that has supported me for so long, and I want to keep up the fight for full equality."
