Meet the Logo30: Daniel K. Isaac

The "Billions" star spent years in gay conversion therapy.

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2018 Logo30. The powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to learn more about the series.

Daniel K. Isaac is currently a cast member on the hit Showtime series Billions, but he is also the award-winning creator of the television project According to My Mother, a pilot based on his real relationship with his mom.

Isaac, who is gay, was in conversion therapy from the ages of 13 to 16, and his sexuality has strained his relationship with his ultra-conservative parent.

"According to My Mother is about how to reconcile with your own family member, who has opposite beliefs and opposite value systems, and yet you deeply love each other," he explains to NewNowNext. "We're all that we have so we never had the luxury of casting each other aside."
