Meet the Logo30: Gray Malin

"Pride is family," says the out photographer and bestselling author.

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2021 Logo30. This powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to view current and past honorees.

Gray Malin sees the world from a different point of view.

A fine-art photographer known for his stunning shots of luxury travel spots and remote locations around the world, Malin resides in Los Angeles with his husband, Jeff Richardson, and their children. He’s also the bestselling author of photo books like Beach and Escape, as well as Be Our Guest!: Not Your Ordinary Vacation, his first children’s picture book.

Although Malin is a globetrotter, he plans to spend Pride ’21 making up for lost time and dancing to a certain Chromatica bop at home.

“My Pride anthem this year — because last year, I didn’t get to do it — is gonna be Lady Gaga’s ’Rain On Me’ with Ariana Grande,” he tells Logo. “I’m going to be playing that on repeat this Pride. I can’t wait. Maybe it actually will rain, or maybe I can get a hose. It is my anthem this year.”
