Meet the Logo30: Randy Rainbow

"It's more important than ever that communities like ours rise up and use our voices."

Every day during the month of June, we will be spotlighting our 2020 Logo30. This powerful series profiles ordinary and extraordinary people who show pride in unique and provocative ways. Visit the Logo30 homepage to view current and past honorees.

From taking on President Donald Trump to poking fun at “Cuomosexuals,” Randy Rainbow’s got the range.

The Emmy-nominated queer comedian and satirist is beloved for his super-political song parodies, which he regularly shares to his 498,000 subscribers on YouTube. His videos have attracted the attention of celebrities like Dan Savage, Rosie O’Donnell, and Debra Messing, to name just a few.

Asked by Logo and NewNowNext what his Pride anthem is for 2020, Rainbow was uncharacteristically serious: “Look, I could sit here and try to come up with some original response to this question, but it’s ’Rain On Me.’ Is this up for debate? How dare you.”

Rainbow also had an important message for LGBTQ voters as we gear up to the 2020 presidential election in November.

“It is an election year, in case you’ve forgotten,” he said, “and it’s more important than ever that communities like ours rise up and use our voices. So vote, vote, vote. And that’s all I’m saying, ’cause you know me. I don’t like to get political.”
