Crop Tops, Glam Cowboys, Fab Flamingos And More Outrageous Fashions From London Collections: Men

The fashion world filled up London over the past few days for the flourishing London Collections: Men shows. A holdover until Fashion Week, this three-year-old event concluded Tuesday and featured new spring/summer 2014 lines from Rag & Bone, Burberry, Alexander McQueen and dozen of other Brit clothiers. Bold patterns, oversized outerwear and bright colors dominated the runways, but we found a few designers went for even more flamboyant flair than usual. Keyword: Crop tops, crop tops crop tops!

Topman

Apparently, we'll be getting Techno Cowboy realness from Topman this season. Our suggestion: Rent Urban Cowboy and find your local country-western bar. (Photos via Flickr)

Topman also sponsored a showcase from MAN, featuring emerging designers: Bobby Abley (above, left two), who was apparently very stricken with Where The Wild Things Are,  with crowns, animal prints and teddy bears. But Craig Green (above, right two) really went theatrical by disguising his models in blinding tie-dye streetwear and sculptures made out of cardboard . "I always think a show should be a show,' Green told The Guardian. "I do what I would like to see." We want to go to his world. Photos via Tumblr

Katie Eary

On Wednesdays we wear pink: Eary's "Flamingo Massacre" collection was certainly well-titled. Following her autumn/winter 2013 palette, she brightened up swatches and went for flamingo and leopard allure. The limited-edition drag flamingo tee got much social-media buzz from fashion editors, and is available online. for just 215 quid. Photos via Katie Eary

Astrid Andersen

Following up from last year's showing of crop tops and lace garments, Anderson once again says to hell with gender norms—creating a line of even tighter and higher-cut crop tees, plus man leggings and  shorts so slim you can see the model's religion. We're not going to comment on the lace full-body suit, other than to say we expect to see Marc Jacob wearing one on the red carpet soon. Photos via Tumblr

J.W. Anderson

J.W. Anderson made waves earlier this year for adding male dresses to his autumn/winter 2013 line up. While there are no dresses here per se, Anderson had his mannequins show shoulders and belly with raggedly halters and crop tops they're practically bursting out of. Photos via J.W. Anderson

Sibling

Last but not least, Sibling's open-weave knits are clear proof that, like it or not, crop tops will undoubtedly be a major trend next spring and summer. (So hit that PX90!) The label  also included fantastical animal-inspired looks, like a light-blue cheetah-patterned track jacket and shorts.  Perfect for that backyard barbecue, right?. Photos via Tumblr

As London wraps up, fashion heads to Florence next for the menswear trade show, Pitti Uomo. Can't wait to see the flamboyant frocks! In the mean time, I plan on getting Katie Eary's drag flamingo tee and am waiting for that teddy bear tunic from Bobby Abley to hit stores.
