Who could forget Louis Vuitton's Core Values campaign, which featured that confusing Bono and Ali Hewson ad where they wear ethical clothes meant to encourage trade in Africa...while carrying LV luggage? And the Angelina Jolie ad, where she sits on a makeshift boat in some jungle wearing "earthy" clothes while carrying one of the most iconic designer bags of all time? Yeah, those were weird times for Louis, when the label tried to go for a look that encouraged awareness of world issues. Nothing wrong with that, for the record, but if you want to help poverty, mixing that cause with getting people to buy your $2000 bags is probs not the way to go.

Luckily, Louis Vuitton finally recognized the image it has with consumers and made its new ad campaign, shot by Steven Klein and featuring high fashion queen Karlie Kloss, something far less pretentious and, dare I say, quite chic. Also, the colorful Alma bag is a nice change from the brown-on-brown we're used to associating with the brand.

It's a glorious new day for all!
