Maine Governor Issues "Apology" For Calling State Representative A “C*cksucker”

"I called Gattine and used the worst word I could think of."

After receiving backlash over his use of an anti-gay slur, Maine Governor Paul LePage gave his best attempt at an apology this weekend.

When state representative Drew Gattine criticized the governor for his racially charged comments about drug traffickers last week, LePage left him a voicemail calling him a "little son-of-a-bitch, socialist cocksucker."

The governor issued a statement saying he became furious when a TV reporter asked his reaction to Gattine calling him a racist, which he described as "the absolute worst, most vile thing you can call a person."

"So I called Gattine and used the worst word I could think of," LePage said. "I apologize for that to the people of Maine, but I make no apology for trying to end the drug epidemic that is ravaging our state."

"Legislators like Gattine would rather be politically correct and protect ruthless drug dealers than work with me to stop this crisis that is killing five Mainers a week," he added.

Gattine, meanwhile, insists he never called the Trump-supporting governor a racist, despite LePage's declaration that local white women were being impregnated by drug dealers, who he claimed are 90% made up of black and Latino men.
