Not wanting to let Maryland have all the fun, Maine today also decided to pass a ballot measure that would legalize gay marriage in the state, according to Huffington Post. That silence you are experiencing right now is every gay person you know trying to book an oceanside B&B for their summer ceremony.
Maine and Maryland are now the only two states to have approved same-sex marriage through a popular vote.
This is the second time Maine voters have supported gay marriage in the Pine Tree State, with a 2009 ballot measure narrowly being defeated.
It’s a pretty good day to be a gay.
