Cher Sings "Fernando" In New "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" Trailer
Clear your calendars because the cinematic event of 2018, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, just became required viewing when it hits theaters this summer.
During last night's Grammys, a trailer for the musical sequel debuted featuring new footage of what viewers can expect when they return to the world of Donna and the Dynamos—including a glimpse of Cher singing a cover of the ABBA hit, "Fernando."
For those of you not following every piece of Mamma Mia news, in the movie Cher plays Ruby, the mother of Donna (Meryl Streep) and grandmother to Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who has taken over running Donna's villa.
Cher showed up as an unexpected party guest at the end of the first trailer, but now in the new TV spot we see the "Believe" belter sing "Fernando" as she descends down a staircase.
As if we weren't excited enough for this musical masterpiece.
We knew Cher was going to be a part of the musical numbers somehow because she tweeted last year about rehearsals, and she snapped a pic of some thigh-high boots that Donna and the Dynamos are famous for wearing.
The new preview shows us more of Cher, but it still doesn't tell us if Donna is dead or just M.I.A.—but as more and more footage is released from the film we are, sadly, leaning towards the former.
