March For Our Lives, The Avengers Team Up for Sexy Get Out the Vote Ad

The spot, full of innuendo, is a clever attempt to increase voter turnout ahead of the midterm elections in November.

We are just over a month away from Election Day, and March For Our Lives has teamed up with some of your favorite Avengers to get out the vote and help bring the blue wave in the midterms.

The spot, called “My First Time,” makes use of clever double innuendo that makes it sound as if they are talking about losing their virginity, while the song “Feels Like the First Time,” by Foreigner, plays behind them.

“I was nervous,” says Scarlett Johansson.

“My first time everybody clapped afterwards,” shares activist David Hogg.

“I mean, I didn’t know how to do it,” admits Mark Ruffalo.

“Where to put it, you know, where to slide it in,” adds Chadwick Boseman.

In actuality, they are talking about their first time voting, and they want everyone else to feel the same sense of excitement on November 6 when they cast their ballot for progress.

The ad, which also features Parkland survivors Emma Gonzalez and Delaney Tarr, and actors Chris Evans, Don Cheadle, Zoë Kravitz, and Rosario Dawson, was produced in partnership with We Stand United, an advocacy campaign to increase voter turnout and protect the right to vote.

Voter turnout is likely to be higher than usual for this midterm election, given the polarized nature of the electorate and the high stakes. Some 800,000 people registered to vote during National Voter Registration Day last week alone.

Each state has its own registration deadlines, to check yours go to USA.gov or vote.org.
