Mariah Carey’s Epic Return to “TRL” Involved an Elevator Sing-Along

Talk about shook!

The last time Mariah Carey stopped by MTV’s TRL she surprised the audience and Carson Daly with sweets and a striptease. This time, MC’s appearance was just a sweet, sweet fantasy come true for a few of her biggest fans.

The pop diva and Christmas queen took a ride in an elevator at the Times Square studio leaving bystanders utterly shook. A few of her dedicated lambs had the pleasure of sharing the same airspace with the songstress and even shared in a sing-a-long to “Always Be My Baby” and “GTFO,” from her new album, Caution.

Another significant moment in the clip is Carey and fans mentioning the fan-created #JusticeForGlitter social media campaign that helped the 17-year-old movie soundtrack top the iTunes chart last week.

Carey made her last appearance on TRL during the promotion of the film and album in 2001. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Carey said the album “nearly ruined her life,” so it’s nice to see this whole moment come full circle.
