The Trump White House giveth, and they taketh away.
As soon as Mario Cantone finished getting into character as Anthony Scaramucci, the brash new White House Communications Director, Scaramucci was quickly fired from his position.
Cantone was only able to play Scaramucci once on Comedy Central’s The President Show, but once was more than enough to prove that he was the only man for the job. We’re sure that he was already dreaming of walking into Studio 8H as he reprised his impersonation on Saturday Night Live.
The morning after Caontone debuted his impression, the comedian-actor was on The View to talk about how he was cast in the role and knew he had to act fast because of the high turnover in the White House these days.
“I was like, ‘Yes, we gotta strike while the iron’s hot! This son of bitch might be gone by October,’” he said on the show. “I haven’t been this viral since the chicken pox at 12 years old, so I can’t believe this.”
Now that Scaramucci is out after only 10 days, Cantone probably won’t be reprising his role on TV. But that didn’t stop the actor from saying goodbye to the American people in a new recorded message that includes gems like: “There’s an old italian expression: Never work for a fat old man who has tiny teeth.”
Oh, Scaramucci we’re going to miss you. You were at least entertaining.
Keep Cantone in your thoughts at this time.
