Watch: Gay YouTube Couple Mark Miller and Ethan Hethcote Have Split

"This is such a positive move for both of us."

Gay YouTuber couple Mark Miller and Ethan Hethcote have called it quits after five years together. The two uploaded a video to Mark's YouTube account shot in Ethan's new apartment, announcing to their almost 700,000 subscribers that they have parted ways.

"We have had a very fast, very fun and very exciting five years. Our professional lives and our personal lives got really intertwined," Ethan says in the video. "I am so grateful for the experiences that we have... we just need to reevaluate how we are doing individually."

Mark comforted their fans by noting that Ethan's new apartment is only a five minute walk from Mark's, but that didn't help their followers who were—judging from the video comments—devastated by the news. Prompting Mark to comment:

"Guys guys guys! people will believe what they want to no matter what you do, but for what its worth, please gosh darn just calm yourself!! CHEEEL! we're both humans, just like you, we cry, we laugh, we bleed. we chose to communicate this to you all hoping it would give you a LITTLE insight to where we are. we shot for 40 minutes, I edited this down to 5. I know I was tearing up... NO SH**, I LOVE that man up there. Crying feels great, give it try sometime. As far as videos, yeh videos still coming. Got a Mexico City video in the works now, pumped to get it out there!! Alright, we cool? GREAT. Has a good one dudes xo"

Mark and Ethan gained hundreds of thousands of followers over the past five years by sharing videos of their fabulous trips around the world together. They made headlines back in 2014 when they set a Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in an hour.

"It's not a big deal, we aren't trying to be dramatic about it, this is such a positive move for both of us," Mark says about their break-up. Watch the video below.
