In November, residents of Maine, Minnesota, Maryland, and Washington will face a marriage question on the ballot. The third in a four-part series called “Marriage for All Families” highlights the stories of gay couples from Washington as told by actual gay couples.
Jamie and Eric of Seattle have been together for more than ten years and are busy raising four sons. “They’re still young enough that they haven’t realized that their family isn’t treated equally,” says Jamie. “I’m really hopeful that they are going to be the first wave of kids that don’t ever have to remember that.”
Raised by his two moms, 27-year-old Jeff of Seattle is in his third year of law school. He attributes much of his success to his parents and their commitment of 38 years. “I hope that going forward this isn’t something we’ll have to debate,” he says.
Together for 12 years, Debbie and Anna are raising two sons in Seattle. “I want them to not even question that they’re any different from anybody else,” says Debbie.
Vote to Approve R74 in Washington.
