Retired tennis legend Martina Navratilova made one last ace serve at the U.S. Open yesterday when she got down on one knee and proposed to girlfriend, former Miss USSR Julia Lemigova. Navratilova, 57, popped the question during a break in the Tennis Channel broadcast of men’s singles semi-final day at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

“I was very nervous, but it came off, and she said yes, and I was flying high,” Navratilova told the World Tennis Association. “It was like an out-of-body experience because you see people propose at sporting events before. You watch it in movies and in real life, and here it was happening to me. It was pretty cool.”

The pair then popped the cork on a magnum of Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial champagne to toast to their future together. 

The 59-time Grand Slam winner has been dating Lemigova, 42, since 2006.
