We hadn't heard Langston Hughes' 1961 play Black Nativity was being turned into a movie musical, but here's the teaser trailer regardless. Jennifer Hudson stars a struggling mother who sends her son (Jacob Latimore) to stay with his grandparents (Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett) in Harlem. Hitting theaters in time for Thanksgiving, the film co-stars Nas, and Mary J. Blige as some kind of fierce white-afro-wearing angel.

We'd go see it for that alone.
