Matt And Cheyenne Rock The "AHS" Red Carpet, Hillary Clinton On Kim Davis: BRIEFS

Plus Jimmy LaSalvia on losing his Romney boner, and Mike Huckabee will only eat Tostitos from now on

Birthday shoutouts go to Shawn and Aaron Ashmore (above), who are 36, Dan Savage is 51, Simon Cowell is 56, Toni Braxton is 48, Joy Behar is 73, and John Mellencamp is 64.

The Advocate has an excerpt from GOProud founder Jimmy LaSalvia's memoir No Hope: Why I Left the GOP (And You Should Too), about his disillusionment with Mitt Romney:

"I started to think that Romney’s pro-gay, inclusive record and rhetoric as governor was just an act in order to get elected in liberal Massachusetts. I began to see that he was, at his core, really an anti-gay bigot. I had heard stories about Ann Romney not being comfortable with gay people, and now I was starting to realize that maybe Mitt wasn’t either. That just had to be the real issue, I thought."

Why Mike Huckabee Picked a Fight With Frito-Lay Over Gay Doritos

"Dan Savage says the backlash to the LGBT Doritos is a perfect analogy for a general attitude towards gay rights. “I don’t see how a gay bag of chips limits anyone else’s religious freedom,” he says. “You don’t have a right to live in a world without bags of gay chips, and it doesn’t infringe on anyone’s private beliefs or practices if there’s a bag of gay chips out there."

The problematic case of Danny Pintauro

"Let's put aside for a second the fact that contracting HIV through oral sex is unbelievably unlikely. The more important point is that it is essentially unprovable. By going out of his way to link his HIV transmission to oral sex, Pintauro has muddied the overall issue of how we talk about HIV/AIDS via a more palatable transmission method. It would have been one thing if he was suddenly putting himself forward as the poster-child for the dangers of oral sex, which aren't currently part of the health class curriculum. Instead, he did the opposite, minimizing this detail with the horrid summary statement of "it's that easy." It only served to add insult to injury that he then went on in the interview to cast the man who gave him HIV in such a shameful light."

And with Gaga

And here's Cheyenne Jackson

And here's The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we're going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We'll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay and bisexual celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT™ to ... Jonathan Slavin

Jonathan had his biggest series success to date with the still too-short-lived Better Off Ted, which ran for two seasons in 2009-2010.

Thanks to Garrett for the Jonathan Slavin suggestion. If you have a suggestion for a future shoutout, drop me a line at therealsnicks@yahoo.com

Three years ago I presented my personal favorite Briefs list, The 100 Greatest Lost Hits of The 80's, and because if there's one thing Hollywood has taught us, it's that sequels and reboots and remakes are ALWAYS better then the original, we're going to the well again with The 100 Greatest Lost Hits of The 80's Part 2: The Even More Forgotten

We'll be spotlighting 100 more of the greatest minor hits of the decade, the songs you don’t hear on any 80’s nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty … or top forty. Hopefully these forgotten gems may ring a long dormant bell, or for younger readers, provide a pop music history lesson.

At #93 is "I Like You" by Phyllis Nelson

Phyllis Nelson hit the U.S. chart once, with the dance hit "I Like You," which peaked at #61 on the Hot 100, and #1 on the dance chart. Sadly, she passed away of breast cancer in 1998.

"I Like You" was her only success in the U.S., but in the UK, it barely made a dent. Her single "Move Closer," however, flopped in the U.S, not even charting, but was an enormous #1 smash in the UK.

So yesterday I mentioned that the song at #94, Gavin Christopher's "One Step Closer," was also performed by Marilyn Martin on her debut album. Guess what?

Congrats to stormymac, who guessed that yesterday's Pixuzzle™ © ® was Pete's Dragon.

Here's today's Pixuzzle™ © ®. Here is a scene from a FAMOUS MOVIE. Can you name it?

And today's Briefs are brought to you by ... David Lurs
