Jessica Lange, the reigning supreme of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story universe, revealed this weekend that she’s definitely not returning for AHS: Hotel.
But dry your tears, because a couple of very exciting casting announcements were made at the show’s PaleyFest panel in L.A. this weekend.
Joining Lady Gaga on the new season are two of our favorite gays, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson. Their roles are unknown—as is the amount of screen time they’ll get. But we can probably confirm that Bomer—who showed up, stripped down, and immediately got butchered on Freak Show—will be enjoying a slightly larger character arc.
“[Ryan Murphy] texted me during [Freak Show] and said, ‘Hey. You have first right of refusal. There’s a really brief role on the show, but it’s kind of out there. Will you come do it?’ And I said, ‘Yes,'” noted Bomer during the panel.
“I had the time of my life and told Ryan that—he said, ‘Great. Would you come do it next season?’ And I said, ‘Hell yeah.”
For his part, Jackson, an AHS newbie, couldn’t be more excited—or scared: “It’s my absolute favorite show. It’s the best acting on television. It’s the most exciting television,” he said. “I’m absolutely nervous, but really excited. Like Matt, I’m ready to jump in.”
Who else do you hope will check in to American Horror Story: Hotel?
