Our dear, dear friend Matt Bomer has just landed a pretty major film role, with producer Michael Din announcing on Twitter that the actor would be portraying the iconic Montgomery Clift in a new movie, set to go into production next year.
@Yolanda150965 Yes, he is, altho we don’t have a schedule yet. It won’t shoot til 2014

The film would tell the story of Clift’s love affair with Elizabeth Taylor, a lifelong friend, after the filming of their classic film, A Place in the Sun, a role that earned Monty a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
Five years after the filming of Place, Clift, who had relationships with both men and women in his lifetime, was in a horrific and disfiguring car accident that all but ended his career, this after leaving a dinner party at Taylor’s house. It is uncertain if the film will go into this incident or not.
As for Bomer, you can catch him later this month when White Collar returns on USA.
