Matt Bomer Is A Hot And Cold Daddy In New "Walking Out" Trailer

A father-son hunting trip goes awry in the out actor's latest film.

For his upcoming film Walking Out, Magic Mike's Matt Bomer had to wear way too many clothes.

As seen in a new trailer for the snowy action flick, Bomer plays Cal, a father who takes an ill-fated hunting trip in Montana with his teenage son. Written and directed by Alex Smith and Andrew J. Smith, the film also stars Josh Wiggins and Bill Pullman.

Walking Out is "about an estranged father and son who come together for an excursion in the wilderness and end up bonding," Bomer told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. "We establish their relationship in a way neither one of them predicted after they encounter some interesting wilderness elements."

The adventurous role certainly wasn't out of Bomer's element. "I actually grew up in Texas doing a lot of outdoor activities like hunting and fishing with my dad and grandfather," he said.

Also no stranger to surviving fatherhood, Bomer is raising three sons with his husband, Hollywood publicist Simon Halls.

Bomer earned a Golden Globe for his gay role in HBO's The Normal Heart. Trans groups have criticized his upcoming film Anything, in which the cis actor plays a trans sex worker.

Amazon's The Last Tycoon, in which Bomer stars as a handsome 1930s film executive, was just canceled after one season.

Walking Out is in theaters October 6.
