Matt Bomer Wins People's Choice Awards, Readies To Play Montgomery Clift

Sex on legs Matt Bomer took home the People's Choice Award last night for Favorite Cable TV Actor for White Collar, which just ended its five-season run. Boomer thanked hubby Simon and his kids—Kit, Henry and Walker—for their support.

Like most People's Choice winners, Bomer said the award was special because it came from the fans: "You've taught me so much about love and commitment over the years, and I love you for it."

Bomer is gearing up for a juicy part: He'll play tragic gay actor Montgomery Clift in the HBO biopic Monty Clift. Love is Strange director Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias are writing the script, which will undoubtedly touch on his friendship with Elizabeth Taylor, stardom in films like From Here to Eternity and Suddenly Last Summer, life as a closeted matinee idol, and his untimely death at age 45.

The project was initially reported in 2013, with production slated for 2014. But with The Normal Heart, Magic Mike 2 and Space Station 76, we understand if he's been busy.
