Matthew Mitcham, the openly gay Australian diver who claimed Gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has found a new profession — writer. The 24-year-old cutie from Down Under is releasing an autobiography, Twists and Turns, next month. Hopefully an autobiography with lots and lots or personal photos.
The book will detail Mitcham’s entire career, including being discovered by the Australian Institute of Sport Diving Program at the age of 11, coming out before the Beijing Games, his Beijing Gold and his failure to medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
Given his widespread popularity and status as a role model for gay men worldwide, we have a feeling Mitcham is gonna have no problem selling quite a few books.
And if that doesn’t work, he is great on television, just check him out on his episode of Be Good Johnny Weir.
