"Mean Girls" Reunion Alert! Lindsay, Tina And The Plastics Reunite For "EW"
Mean Girls may be the most important film of the past ten years. A cultural touchstone almost from its original release in 2004, the flick has been the subject of endless memes, gifs and BuzzFeed posts and caused a generation of goodwill for star Lindsay Lohan. Entertainment Weekly reunited LiLo with the film's writer Tina Fey and the trio known as The Plastics — Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and evil taking a human form in Rachel McAdams as part of their "Reunions" issue, out now.
We learn a few things about the Mean Girls production from the article, such as Lindsay and Rachel were originally planning to play each other's respective roles; Tina regrets not doing a sequel; Tina and Amy Poehler tried to crack the now-legendary LiLo-Hillary Duff feud; and LiLo and Mimi are made up by the same drag queen.
"Mariah Carey and I have the same makeup artist," Lindsay casually mentioned. "Whenever I see her, she does always say, 'On Wednesdays, I wear pink.' She loves that movie."
When asked where their characters would be now, ten years later, the ladies had their own ideas:
SEYFRIED: Karen would manage or own a store that sells really cool dog attire, like Swarovski dog collars and Halloween costumes for animals. She’s probably really focused.
LOHAN: Cady’s with Oprah in Africa working at children’s schools with a family, teaching girls to be nice to each other.
CHABERT: Gretchen is probably running the Toaster Strudel empire. She is probably married and has, like, seven babies right now. She and Jason worked it out. She has very big curly hair.
McADAMS: Regina is a Real Housewife. She’d have too much time on her hands, for sure. She’s probably found all her other Reginas.
Let's all say it together, kids:
