Megan Mullally Runs a “Sex-Positive House” In Exclusive New “Crush” Clip

"Shame does not live here!"

We have been crushing on Megan Mullally for decades, so it’s only appropriate that her latest project is titled… well, Crush.

The Will & Grace actress is part of the ensemble in Hulu’s new queer teen rom-com, hitting the streaming service on April 29. The movie — directed by Sammi Cohen — is about Paige (played by Rowan Blanchard), an artsy high schooler who is forced to join the school track team, which her crush, Gabriella (Isabella Ferreira) just happens to be a member of. Instead of falling head over heels for Gabriella, things get complicated when romance blooms between Paige and another teammate, AJ (Auli’i Cravalho), who happens to be Gabriella’s sister.

Sounds like a 100-meter dash straight to drama!

In an exclusive new clip from the movie, Paige is busy plotting how she is going to make Gabriella fall in love with her, but instead of offering advice, Paige’s mother, Angie (Mulally), gets carried away recalling the time she hooked up with the lead singer of an Aerosmith cover band. Angie then tries to push her cool mom cred by insisting she runs a “sex-positive house,” offering to help Paige shop for vibrators.

“Megan is a comedic genius with a heart of gold. She took every moment in the script, elevated it, and made me laugh so much that I had to move my monitor further away from set,” Crush director Sammi Cohen tells Logo about working with the Emmy-winning actress. “Collaborating with her was a dream come true — I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”

Crush along with Netflix’s Heartstopper, are just the latest queer teen romance titles to hit streaming services this month, so it looks like we will have plenty to fill the Love, Victor-sized holes in our hearts when that Hulu series ends with its third and final season in June.

Crush premieres April 29 on Hulu, until then check out the exclusive clip below.
