Megan Mullally On Whether She's Anything Like Karen Walker

The "Will & Grace" star also opens up about why she thinks the show was so successful.

Learning that Karen Walker would be returning to our TV screens in a Will & Grace reboot was nothing short of a miracle, and we haven't been able to take our minds off of our favorite pill-popping, booze-guzzling lady ever since.

Attitude is helping to give us our Karen fix by interviewing Megan Mullally in its latest issue. The magazine was hoping that someone like Karen Walker exists in real life, and asked the actress what percentage of her character she actually embodies.

“Low, thankfully," she replied. “But doesn’t everybody have a part of them that wishes they could say whatever the fuck they wanted to without having to worry about it?”

Perhaps that's why we're so desperate to have Karen back in our lives. But even with all the hilarious moments that she and Jack provided, we also love the show for shining a light on LGBT issues.

“If anybody feels that Will & Grace had any kind of impact on raising levels of tolerance for the gay community, then it was because it was handled with a light touch," she told Attitude. “[Back then] if you tried to hammer people over the head with it, they would have been up in arms and wouldn’t have wanted to watch the show.”

So how will it be different now that it's returning 19 years after it first premiered on NBC? The actress wouldn't give away any details, so it looks like we'll just have to wait and see.
