Matthew MorrisonMatthew Morrison is fine with fans and the media questioning his sexuality. “I know my own truth, I’m a very happy heterosexual man,” Morrison said. “But like I said in that quote, I have a lot of gay friends and I’m a big supporter of gay rights and gay marriage. This is America, this is the land of freedom and opportunity and I think it’s kind of crazy that a loving or committed gay or lesbian couple can’t marry just because they’re different.”

Colorado College has riled some folks up by allowing “Queer” as an option under “Gender” on their job applications. While many are calling it a slur, the college says that it’s actually trying to be more opening and welcoming. The school is aware that some find it offensive, but “Others have reclaimed it and are comfortable using it to describe themselves.” Personally, I’ve always found “queer” to be an empowering word, but recognize it doesn’t travel well across age groups and some geographies.

While five more episodes seems like a half-hearted endorsement, Sean Saves the World has added that many, putting the initial season at 18 episodes to prove it’s worthy of being renewed. I had to delete it from my TiVo, I just couldn’t take it. Is anyone still watching?Sean Saves the World

Tom Cruise is admitting that Scientology played a role in his divorce from Katie Holmes, and that his daughter Suri is no longer involved in the religion. But most controversially, he compares the job of being a multi-millionaire actor to being a solider in Afghanistan. “That’s what it Tom Cruisefeels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal. There is difficult physical stamina and preparation. Sometimes I’ve spent months, a year, and sometimes two years preparing for a single film. A sprinter for the Olympics, they only have to run two races a day. When I’m shooting, I could potentially have to run 30, 40 races a day, day after day.” Honestly, Tom, I think I speak for the entire world when I say go eff yourself.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin is doubling down on not processing benefits for same-sex spouses, despite orders from the Pentagon to do so. She says that no facility that is run by state employees will process the benefits, regardless of them being federal benefits, and soldiers will have to travel to a federal facility or one of the four National Guard facilities operated by the federal government.

Jennifer Lawrence is a quote machine, and most of them are just gold. There’s a whole list of them this week, but my personal favorite is when she was asked if Liam Hemsworth or Josh Hutcherson was a better kisser. “How about we have them kiss each other and let them decide?”Josh Hutcherson Jennifer Lawrence Liam Hemsworth

Cher gave a killer interview about Twitter, sex appeal, Miley Cyrus, and her love affair with the gays. “Gay guys like a certain kind of woman. They like a flamboyant woman that’s broken. They like a balls-to-the-wall woman, motherly but not; sexual but not. Gay guys are like this: they either love you or they don’t even know you’re on the planet. Once you have them, you have them.” And she doesn’t think the lesbians are nearly as fond of her. “Not in the same degree. I think my gay boys, that’s a big part of my world.” You really have to click through to read the story about her, Sonny, Salvador Dali, and the vibrator.

In August, a Japanese game show challenged a straight male porn star, who claimed to have so much “climax control” no one could make him orgasm if he didn’t want to receive a blow job on air from a gay bar owner. Who won the challenge? And why isn’t American television this fun?

I can’t really tell you anything about this commercial without ruining it, but if the point of a commercial is to catch your attention and be memorable, they nailed it.

This video of Tyler the Creator on the Arsenio Hall Show is bound to be controversial. Tyler is known for throwing around some seriously homophobic terms in his songs, but again we have someone who claims that he doesn’t mean the word like that, and as dumb as it sounds, he’s kind of believable, if misinformed. The other rather interesting thing is that while he was discussing it, he brings up his dear friend Frank Ocean, who he says is gay, which is a step further than Frank has gone with it. He’s talked about loving a man, and most reports say bisexual. But Tyler is actually quite close to Frank and would be most likely to know.

This French bullying PSA asks a pretty simple question – if a day at work isn’t like this, why should a day at school be any different?

We’ve got the full trailer for The Day of the Doctor, and it does look insane, with three Doctors, what I assume is Gallifrey, Daleks, companions, and general insanity. Sadly I’ll be at work when this airs, and will have to avoid all social media until I can get home and watch it.

There’s also this short clip entitled “Elizabeth’s Credentials” to give more insight into the episode.

TLC, having abandoned any pretense of being The Learning Channel has a show called Secret Princes, where foreign royalty come to the U.S., get real jobs, and try and find love with commoners. In her TEDx talk, she discusses how we all come out of the closet all the time, gay or straight, just different closets, and what we need to do to make sure that the experience is productive for both ourselves and the people around us.

Squared explores the power dynamics of race and sex when two guys who are extremely hot for each other discover that they’re both exclusive tops, which sounds like a really boring way to go through your sex life. Experiment a little, you may just like it. And if you drop some of those preconceived notions you may just get laid more.

Senator Ted Cruz made his late night debut with Jay Leno. To his credit, Leno actually asked some tough questions on healthcare, governance, and gay rights, but being a late night talk show host he sadly let Cruz take the floor and give his answers without challenge. This segment focuses on social issues like gay marriage, and Leno, while obviously being a supporter of equality lets Cruz sound quite sane about denying people their rights. Then they move on to Cruz’ rabidly anti–gay father, and Cruz’ answer sounds great – until you listen to what he’s saying, which is that he idolizes his father, who happens to be a man with extraordinarily anti-gay opinions. How can we assume he’s not as extreme as dear old dad?

Opinionated. You'll love to hate me
