Crystal O'Connor and her father Kevin, owners of the Indiana pizzeria who first declared they would not cater a same-sex wedding under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, reopened their small-town shop to a packed house yesterday.

According to Indy Star, all eight tables at Memories Pizza were full within an hour after the shop opened at 4pm, and six people were waiting for carryout orders. There were no protests or sit-ins, a possibility Crystal had previously expected.

The pair and their business were subject to nationwide criticism in the weeks following that first interview; they closed temporarily after claiming they had received death threats and only decided to reopen after a GoFundMe campaign defending their "religious freedom" raked in nearly $850,000.

The O'Connors asserted in several interviews that they do not "hate" gay people and would openly serve them, but reserved their "right" not to cater a same-sex wedding.

Speaking to the AP, Kevin O'Connor said he had no intention of profiting from the proceeds of the recent GoFundMe campaign. Instead, the pair have decided to use it for repairs, donate portions to charity and other discriminatory businesses around the country.

"It's a relief to get going again and try to get back to normal," said Kevin. "I'd do the same thing again. It's my belief. It's our belief. It's what we grew up on. I'm just sorry it comes to this because neither one of us dislike any of those people. I don't hold any grudges."
