He Was Fed Up With His Office's No-Shorts Dress Code, So He Came To Work In A Skirt

Men across Europe are donning skirts to protest archaic dress codes during oppressive summer heat.

There've been record high temperatures in the UK this summer, and men are getting fed up with office dress codes barring them from wearing shorts. So more and more of them are taking a page from the women's dress code and wearing skirts to work.

Joey Barge, a 20-year-old from Buckinghamshire, showed up for his call center job wearing shorts and was sent home.

So he came to the office the next day wearing a nice, little dress that technically fell within the dress code:

Surprisingly, Barge wasn't sent home. In fact, his employer sent out an email stating male employees could wear shorts due to the "extremely warm temperatures."

At Isca Academy in Exeter more than two dozen boys wore skirts to school this week after being told they couldn't wear shorts.

The "no pants, no thanks" trend seems to be spreading across Europe: Bus drivers in Nantes, France, showed up in skirts because their company's dress code bars men from wearing shorts.

"Our uniform is not appropriate for these high temperatures. We envy women at moments like this,” bus driver Didier Sauvetre told the local news.

We bet we know how those legs feel after being freed from their oppressive pants.
