Take a look at some of her roles below.
All I Wanna Do
Merritt had a small role in this nineties film that may be one of the greatest guilty pleasures ever. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Gaby Hoffman and Rachel Leigh Cook as a group of pals at an all girls schools in the 60s. Not wanting their school to go coed with a neighboring all boys school, the ladies get to work trying to save their institution. Such brave, brave ladies.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
A whole bunch of people hated this show, but Merritt was great as the very green Suzanne, a former production assistant who becomes the assistant to a variety show’s showrunner, played by Matthew Perry. She was funny and daft, but also touching in later episodes when she confronted her boss about his drug abuse.
Though her role was brief, it was one of the most crucial to the film as Merritt played a plantiff involved in a class action lawsuit against a major corporation who has a questionable relationship with a recently deceased lawyer, played by Tom Wilkinson.
Did you now Merritt and Lena knew each other growing up AND that Merritt starred in Lena’s debut film Tiny Furniture? Well she did and you should all go rent it today.
As the kooky and zany Zooey, Merritt is often the comic relief in this dramedy, but this season got a lot more screen time with star Edie Falco, becoming a rock for the newly separated and sober mom.
