Meryl Streep, Alicia Keys Bring Down The House At The DNC

Followed by Hillary Clinton.

Night Two of the 2016 Democratic National Convention closed in epic fashion, with Meryl Streep delivering one of the best speeches of the night, with a roll call of some of the greatest "female firsts" in our country's history.

"Sandra Day O'Connor, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman, Shirley Chisholm, Madeline Albright, Geraldine Ferraro, Eleanor Roosevelt!"

"These women share something in common," Streep told the crowd, "Capacity of mind, fullness of heart, and a burning passion for their cause. They have forged new paths, so that others can follow them, men and women. Generation on generation. That's Hillary."

Streep was followed by a fiery performance from Alicia Keys, who dedicated it to the Mothers Of The Movement, a group of women, including the mothers of Sandra Bland, Jordan Davis, and Trayvon Martin, whose children were victims of gun violence.

"Until we deal with gun violence in this country, we can't claim to be the home of the brave," Keys said before launching into "Superwoman."

Keys' performance was followed by one of the most moving moments of the night, as a montage of all 44 previous Presidents was shown, with the live image of Clinton breaking through this ultimate glass ceiling to address the crowd.
