The ESPN Body Issue is once again upon us, delivering tastefully nude portraits of top athletes like Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, soccer player Omar Gonzalez, NFL power forward Serge Ibaka (right) and pro tennis player Tomas Berdych and Venus Williams.
This year’s issue includes soccer icon Megan Rapinoe, the first openly gay athlete to pose in the magazine. “If you want to stand up and fight for equal rights but then won’t even stand up for yourself and say ‘I’m gay’ — that just started to feel weird,” Rapinoe told the magazine.
Much of the buzz about this year's edition surrounds the inclusion of the Texas Rangers' 6-foot, 275-lb infielder Prince Fielder, who graces one of several covers. "A lot of people probably think I'm not athletic or don't even try to work out or whatever, but I do," said Fielder. "Just because you're big doesn't mean you can't be an athlete. And just because you work out doesn't mean you're going to have a 12-pack."
We think Fielder does pretty well for himself.
