Michael Sam Celebrates NFL Draft Pick By Kissing Boyfriend: WATCH

— Vito (@Vitcamm) May 11, 2014

Michael Sam celebrated the news that he had been chosen at yesterday's NFL Draft by smooshing cake into boyfriend Vito Cammisano's face and then planting a big kiss on him.

The smooch was captured by ESPN (below), letting the public know that while Sam is 100% about football on the field, he's not a sexless eunuch off it.

Cammisano was also a University of Missouri student athlete—he was on the swim team from 2009 to 2012.

After news of the Rams' selection was announced, President Obama praised Sam for becoming the first openly gay player in NFL history:

The President congratulates Michael Sam, the Rams and the NFL for taking an important step forward today in our Nation’s journey. From the playing field to the corporate boardroom, LGBT Americans prove everyday that you should be judged by what you do and not who you are.

Sam's draft also blew up on Twitter, with well over 110,000 tweets about his status, from fans, the Rams, the NFL and supportive players. There are always a few dinguses to spoil the fun, though: Miami Dolphin Don Jones tweeted "omg" after seeing Sam and his boyfriend kiss.

Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey was quick to respond that Jones' tweet "is not what we stand for as an organization."

In other Michael Sam news, orders for his Rams jersey are through the roof. According to sportscaster Dan Bernstein, NFL merchandising is scrambling to fill a "ridiculous" number of orders.
