Michel Gondry Creates A Wild Road Mash Up

For his new film, an adaption of the Boris Vian novel The Froth on the Daydream, Gondry created an alternate world where cars smashed together forming entirely new structures. And rather than CGI them after the fact, Gondry went ahead and had his team make real life models. The result is pure Michel: whimsical, weird, slightly creepy and totally original.

At first glance, this looks like to Peugeot 205s parked next to one each other, tail to front. But it's actually one car with a back end welded onto the front.

This hacked Renault 21 doesn't know if it's coming or going.

Bright blue, imposing and totally not getting you anywhere: the mad scientist Peugeot 404.

We suppose the double front fins on this Citroen GSA might make it a bit hard to drive. Good thing the wheel is actually in the back.

Imagine the wild ride in this Renault 19.
