Michelle Visage Will Officiate One Lucky LGBT Couple's Dream Wedding

Tinder swipes right on a Pride contest with a $100,000 prize.

In celebration of Pride month, Michelle Visage has teamed up with Tinder to give one lucky LGBT couple $100,000 toward their dream wedding.

LGBT couples who have found love on the popular dating app can enter the contest through June by posting a #couplespic to Instagram, tagging Tinder and using the hashtag #TinderSuccessStory, along with a description of their successful meet-cute.

They first met on Tinder and got coffee at a Starbucks. While they hit it off well, they remained friends until about a year later, when they decided to start dating. One night, when they were trying to escape the rain, they stumbled upon what is now their favorite date spot—an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills, where the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce was to die for and the seafood pasta had just the right amount of spice. Now they’re ready to make it official. And full disclosure: we have a special place in our heart for this couple, because Aaron is our very own CRM Specialist at Tinder. @aaronsilvers

When Visage first heard about the #TinderSuccessStory initiative, the Rupaul’s Drag Race judge signed on to judge the winning photo—and officiate the winning couple’s wedding ceremony. Instead of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, she'll be judging the posts on originality, presentation, emotional impact, and relevance to Pride theme.

“At Tinder, we believe in marriage equality,” says Tinder exec Rosette Pambakian in a statement. “With new product features like our More Gender options, we have taken steps to make the app inclusive for all users because every person deserves the chance to meet someone special while feeling comfortable being themselves."

"We believe everyone has the right to marry their perfect match, so today, we’re looking for one extraordinary couple to win a Tinder dream wedding. Sometimes LGBTQ couples don’t have the family support for a dream wedding, so that is why we are here to swipe right on their dream.”

They were both out of long-term relationships and hadn’t been dating for a while when they joined Tinder. In fact, Missy only joined when her straight friends at the office convinced her to. In March 2015, after five months of swiping sporadically, Missy and Julianne matched. Two weeks later, they met each other at Julianne’s friend's comedy show in Long Beach. Missy told Julianne that she was already going to the event; but that wasn’t true so she had to beg some friends to come with her last minute. She played it cool and it all worked out. They spent the next year together, traveling and spending as much time together as possible, until July 2016 when Missy proposed before the Purple Rain show at the Hollywood Cemetery and a visit back East to see Julianne's family. Julianne said yes. They’re getting married in October 2017 at the same place they had their first date.
