The Bangerz era is over.
Today Miley Cyrus released the video for her sun-soaked, mid-tempo ode to the beach, “Malibu,” and put on your sunblock because this song is going wash over you like some warm summer rays.
This time Cyrus isn’t throwing an outrageous house party like in “We Can’t Stop” or riding a giant wrecking ball, but instead she is just taking in her gorgeous surroundings and thanking her love (fiancé Liam Hemsworth) for bringing her there.
“I never sat by the shore under the sun with my feet in the sand but you brought me here, and I’m happy that you did cause now I’m as free as birds catching the wind,” Cyrus sings.
Did we mention that there’s a giant bouquet of balloons and a cute dog? Do we have to sell you anymore?
Cyrus has been an outspoken ally in recent years, speaking out about marriage equality, LGBT homeless youth and other issues, and founding her Happy Hippie Foundation. Plus, if you love this song then you might want to catch her when she headlines D.C. Pride on June 11.
