Minnesota Man Arrested After Responding To 14-Year-Old’s Grindr Profile

The 20-year-old suspect told police he believed the boy was over 16.

A Minnesota man has been arrested after responding to a Grindr profile posted by a 14-year-old.

Efram Ciavarelli, 20, has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, solicitation of a child through electronic communication, and possession of pornographic work after going to the Rochester home of the unnamed youth and having sex with him.

Their encounter was interrupted by two juveniles in the house who saw a strange vehicle in the driveway. According to police, the two grabbed a knife, went downstairs and found a naked older male in the bedroom. They then called 911.

Police found Ciavarelli in his car nearby. He claims he believed the boy was over 16, the legal age of consent in Minnesota.
