Time to put on your party dresses, Midwesterners: The Minnesota Senate has just passed a measure legalizing same-sex marriage by a vote of 37-30.

Democratic Governor Mark Dayton has already agreed to sign House File 1054/Senate File 925 (possibly as early as tomorrow) which means Gopher State gays could be shoving wedding cake into each other's mouths as early as August 1.

“Today, we have the power, the awesome, humbling power, to make dreams come true," said out Sen. Scott Dibble. “We will be removing barriers to the full joy life has to offer.” Dibble and his husband, Richard, tied the knot in California in 2008, before Prop 8 ended marriage equality in that state.

Let's get on that next, shall we?
