Miss Lawrence On Miss Bruce, The Breakout Character On Fox's "Star"
Move over, Cookie Lyon.
The character of Miss Bruce is poised to be the fan favorite on Lee Daniels' new series, Star—much like Cookie was on Empire.
In a new behind-the-scenes feature, Miss Lawrence (who you may know from Real Housewives of Atlanta and Empire) discusses how he approaches playing the over-the-top and fabulously fierce character of Miss Bruce.
"Miss Bruce hits home for me," Miss Lawrence explains in the clip. "It's a character I identify with because Miss Bruce is a kind of unpolished but very talented person who hasn't really experienced a fair shot at life because he is very gender fluid."
"There is no character on television like Miss Bruce," he adds.
