In case you missed the Miss USA pageant last night, there are two big things to know:
1. The winner was Miss Rhode Island Olivia Culpo, who expressed her support for transgendered contestants. Go her!
2. Um, well, you know how sometimes you have those moments where the only movie you can think of is Pretty Woman? We all have those moments, right? Well, unfortunately Miss Ohio had one of those very common and human moments that everyone has, right after Marilu Henner asked her to cite an example of a positive female role model in movies or TV. Clip above, and transcript below. Oops!
“I think it depends on the movie. I think there are some movies that depict women in a very positive role, and then some movies that put them in a little bit more of negative role. But by the end of the movie, they show that woman power that I know we all have. Such as movie Pretty Woman. We had a wonderful, beautiful woman, Julia Roberts, and she was having a rough time, but, you know what, she came out on top and she didn’t let anybody stand in her path.”
We think the best part was Giuliana Rancic trying not to laugh at the end.
