Misspelled Tourism Sign Promotes Anal Sex In Kansas City

"Bum voyage!"

Earlier this week, a photo of a sign promoting tourism in Kansan City went viral thanks to an unfortunate spelling error. The image showed a sign at a streetcar stop with the message: "Kansas City welcomes 25 million visitors anally."

Parody Twitter account You Had One Job shared the photo with its half-million followers, along with the caption: "Welcome to Kansas."

Without missing a beat, followers responded wth witty wisecracks at KC's expense.

The fun ended when the official Visit Kansas City Twitter account chimed in, informing users the sign was photoshopped.

Another user jumped in to remind You Had One Job that there are two places named Kansas City—one in Missouri and the other in Kansas. The sign in question wasn't even in Kansas.

In case there was any doubt, The digital marketing director for Visit KC posted a picture of the actual sign—sans misspelling.

At least one person was bummed by the news it was a fake.
