Suddenly Mj Rodriguez! The "Pose" Star Slays a "Little Shop" Classic

Belting out a show-tune standard on late-night TV? Check!

Mj Rodriguez finally brought the gorgeous runs she's been hoarding in the Pasadena Playhouse production of Little Shop of Horrors to a national audience this week.

During a recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Pose actress and her co-star George Salazar—the Seymour to her Audrey—belted out "Suddenly Seymour," one of the signature tunes from the 1982 Off-Broadway musical and beloved 1986 film.

"Not a lot of women like myself have been able to play a role like Audrey, so it feels monumental and groundbreaking that this team saw me and wanted me for the show," Rodriguez recently told NewNowNext. "Audrey seems bubbly and happy-go-lucky, but deep down this girl is going through a bunch. I’m happy and honored that I finally get to take on such an epic, meaty role, not just as a trans woman but as a woman and a woman of color."

If you can't make it out to the Pasadena Playhouse by October 20 to see Rodriguez in Little Shop, check out what you're missing below:
