More Missing ‘Glee:’ Mike Chang and His Dad Finally Bond

Mike Chang Glee scene

The Changs bond at graduation.

With so many couples vying for time on Glee, it’s no surprise cute scenes get cut left and right, but thanks to Ryan Murphy’s Twitter presence we’re now getting a better look at McKinley’s hottest pairing.  Now up, Tina and Mike, who discuss their plans (and Tina’s insecurities) post-high-school.

Their smooch session is interrupted by Mike’s parents showing up to take the pair to dinner.  Mike’s father, who was previously unsupportive of his son’s decision to pursue dance, shows he’s changed his tune by presenting Mike with a pamphlet on “First Generation Asian-American Parents of Children in the Arts.” As a gift his parents have started a fundraising scholarship group grown out of their love for their son and his passion — Mike probably would have preferred a new car? Or some cash?  It’s a bit overwrought, but it’s nice to see Papa Chang back in the picture (can we lobby for a Papa Chang and Papa Hummel spinoff buddy comedy?  Because we’re all about that.)

Rae Votta (@RaeVotta) thinks they should call the spinoff “Hummel and Chang Detective Agency,” obviously.
